De Vereeniging De Friesche Elf Steden bestaat op 15 januari 2009 exact honderd jaar. Mindert Evert Hepkema was hiervan de oprichter, over wie een uiterst onthullend archiefstuk is gevonden. Het is geschreven door Jaap Hepkema, zijn enige zoon. Het ligt in Tresoar in Leeuwarden en is openbaar. Hieronder staat de complete tekst.
